Anesthesiology (old.greek ἀν- negative prefix, αἴσθησις – sensitivity,λόγος — science) a science studying use of various methods of anaesthesiology to numb a pain and manage different vital functions of organism in perioperative period (i.e. before, during and after surgery).

Doctors of MediClub are highly-qualified anesthesiologists-reanimatologists,who are professionals in use of all methods of modern anesthesiology:

General anesthesia - patient is falling into deep artificial sleep before surgery. Carried out by inhaling or intravenous injection of anesthetics.

Local anesthesia – is numbing of part of body where a surgery is to be performed on. Carried out by injecting local anaesthetic near nerve or nerve cluster (peripheral nerve blocks), or by injecting local anaeshtetic near spine (spine anesthesia – spinal or epidural).

Sedation (most often used in dentistry) – a patient is being put into a stage of physical and emotional relaxation, or even in a stage of light sleep. Carried out by inhalation or intravenous injection of sedatives.

Selection of anaesthesia methods depends on specifics, extent of surgical intervention, duration of procedure or surgery to be carried out, and also on initial state of patient’s health and his сharacterological features. Anaesthesia method is being determined during preliminary consultation of anaesthesiologist.

Intensive therapy and resuscitation are closely linked with anaesthesiology.

Main goal of intensive care unit is to pursue range of activities aimed at restoring and maintaining impaired functions of vital organs and systems for the most severe patients’ group.

Intensive care unit of MediClub Hospital consists of 6 wards (4 adult and 2 child), 4 wards are equipped with systems of negative pressure. Besides, all 28 wards of the hospital have centralized oxygen supply, сompressed gas and vacuum, which, in term, in urgent cases allows to convert them quickly into intensive care wards.

A unit is equipped with modern devices which enables round-clock monitoring (respiratory and hemodynamic indicators, body temperature) and management of vital functions of patients. All intensive care workstations are equipped with infusions sets consisting of infusomats, perfusors, systems for enteral nutrient solutions administration with autonomous supply; multifunctional beds with complete electric drive and body weight control function.

Equipment of intensive care unit with special devices (ALV apparatus, devices for plasmapheresis, hemodyalisis, ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation) (artificial circulation device) allows provision of intensive care and reanimation measures for all group of patients, including children.
